VAS is made up of people who care about making a difference and want to leverage their understanding, experience and any position or privilege to support others. VAS is a values led organisation dedicated to delivering their purpose of supporting people, communities and the Voluntary Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector (VCFSE) to lead positive change – change that really matters to local people and will help them get the best results now and in the future.
Throughout her career, Helen has recognised that tackling inequality requires more than good intentions—it calls for bold rethinking and rebuilding of the systems and structures that shape our society. To support this work, Helen works with her team at Voluntary Action Sheffield in tools and techniques rooted in consent-based and inclusive models of leadership, that help make sense of complex systems and unlock the potential of individuals through mutual exchange, cooperative principles, and safe spaces for expression. Helen brings a wealth of leadership and development experience, particularly within the third sector, having worked for the last 20 years in the voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector, for local and national charities and for a local social housing provider.
