We warmly invite early career researchers, lecturers, postdoctoral scholars, PhD candidates nearing submission, and anyone poised to begin their grant writing journey—across all disciplines—to join us in a Grant Writing Workshop centred on the idea of the climate pluriverse. If your work challenges dominant climate narratives, engages with plural ontologies, or seeks to advance decolonial, Indigenous, relational, or speculative approaches to climate futures, this is a space for you. Together, we will explore how to navigate and subvert institutional funding frameworks while collaboratively shaping an AHRC Catalyst Grant proposal. This is not only a workshop—it is a call to action to co-design the operational infrastructure for a translocal, pluriversal response to the climate crisis.

Format of the Workshop:

  • Introduction: Intellectualising Grant Bureaucracy! (Tanzil Shafique, 5 min)
  • Round of Introductions (10 min)
  • Why Climate Pluriversations (Martin Savransky, 5 min)
  • AHRC Grants and context (Louise Dore, video, 5 min)
  • Breaking down the AHRC application (roundtable discussion format):
  1. Vision (45 mins)
  2. Approach (30 mins)
  3. Resources and Cost (15 mins)
  4. Applicant and team capability to deliver / note on Narrative CV (15 mins)
  5. Project partners (15 mins)
  6. Ethics and responsible research and innovation (RRI) (15 mins)
  7. Concluding Discussion (30 mins)

Comfort breaks to be provided at 3:30 pm.
