On Tuesday 3 June (2025), the Energy Institute hosted a tour of the

The AMP is recognised as one of the leading and most innovative engineering, research and manufacturing communities. With grow-on space available and confirmed investment in some of the UK’s leading engineering and technology driven projects in aeronautical engineering and nuclear energy, the AMP is an important concentration of talent, know-how and expertise recognised by the UK Government and by major corporations around the world.

Attended by Energy Institute members and other University of Sheffield colleagues from various schools, faculties and departments, the visit offered an exciting opportunity for colleagues to identify and engage with potential internal collaborators, and learn more about the support available for demonstrator projects in advance of future funding proposals.

The half-day tour included a visit to Factory 2050, the  (TERC), the  (LVV) and lunch.

It’s great to see so many colleagues across the campus taking advantage of these organised visits. Over the coming 12 months, we hope to facilitate more cross-faculty collaboration and link our capabilities through the Energy Institute via a programme of support.
