A new home for the BNBR Life Centre!

We’re thrilled with the new home for the BNBR Life Centre: 205 Brook Hill.

205 Brook Hill from road entrance

After leaving the Octagon Centre last summer, followed by nine months in a temporary location at 9 Mappin Street, we moved into 205 Brook Hill in March.

During the Spring we settled into our new surroundings: a Victorian building that started out as a vicarage before becoming a church centre in the 1920s. While it’s had various uses since, it’s interesting that it’s being used for religion and belief purposes again.

205 Brook Hill has a variety of different-sized rooms. Among these we’ve set up a lounge, a gathering space and an activities space as well as several office spaces.

Located on a busy part of campus - between the Information Commons and the Hicks building - students and staff are using our centre regularly, as more people find out what’s on offer here.

The adjacent building, Brook Hill Hall, has recently been demolished to make way for a pocket park and garden. As part of this project our home is due to get step-free access soon.

We’re excited for these developments!

We’ll soon be sharing 205 Brook Hill with the campus trade unions, who we have already been working with collaboratively.

While focusing on the end of this semester, we are looking forward to welcoming more visitors to our new home over the summer and in the next academic year.
